The series showcases ordinary life events through the eyes of the extraordinary youngster Malcolm, played by Muniz, who has a genius IQ.

The original series creator, Linwood Boomer, will also return for the fresh episodes on Disney+. A release date for them is yet to be announced.

"I have been waiting for this moment for 18 years. Let's find out where Malcolm and his family are now," Muniz said in a video message accompanying the announcement.
